J&T Standard Packaging

  • J&T PACKAGING RULES
    • Packaging materials
  • Using J&T Express tapes for any other use and using non-J&T Express tapes are prohibited
  • Use J&T Express packaging tapes only when packing J&T boxes and customer’s boxes (non-competitors)
  • J&T don’t accept items that weigh more than 50 kg and with a length of more than 1.5 meters on one side
  • General Packaging
    • It is recommended that chipboard boxes like shoe boxes, gifts, etc., must be packed into an outer box (any of the four sizes of J&T boxes) or a customer’s own box.
    • Note: Customer’s Box
      • Not Damage
      • Sturdy
      • Securely closed
  • Over Stuffing – is not allowed. It must be sealed and should not go beyond the flaps line of the boxes.
  • Irregular Shape – Wrap the sharp edges using bubble wraps, cling wraps, and J&T Express tapes
  • Reused Boxes – Remove all the old address labels or tracking number stickers (if any) before using, and make sure there are no holes, tears, or corner dents in the outer box.
  • Competitors Packaging – J&T do not accept parcels that have competitor’s packaging on them
  • Proper Packaging – The usage of bubble wrap and a darker plastic packaging is better which will be reinforced with clear wrap.
  • Improper packaging
    • The usage of clear plastic for packaging is not advisable because it is prone for any possible lost.
    • J&T pouches should be sent separately, do not tape two parcels together with only one waybill.
    • J&T pouches must be properly sealed, we must not use more pouches for oversized and overstuffed parcels.
    • Use your own packaging if it does not fit in the pouch.
    • J&T pouches must not be modified and used as covers of the actual parcels.
    • J&T pouches must not be used as covers on top of original packaging just for aesthetics.
  • Packaging of Gadgets – Protect the gadget by using a bubble wrap. Wrap it four (4) rounds or 2” by each side. Wrap its accessories on a separate cushioning/bubble wrap. NOTE: Make sure that it is intact using our J & T Express Tape.
    • Place the wrapped items inside a sturdy box.
    • Ensure that there are no spaces and fill the box with additional bubble wrap.
    • Wrap it four (4) rounds, wrap the accessories on a separate cushioning. Make sure that it is intact using our J&T Express tape.
    • Laptops, Two-way radio, and Cellphones – make sure that the battery is attached to it and turned off. NOTE: Shipping a spare battery is not allowed for air Transit.
    • Other gadgets: tablets, game gadgets, calculators – battery Battery or power source must be securely separated from the unit package. Gadgets that are rechargeable or non detachable batteries should be turned off
  • Packaging of Printer
    • Remove printing cartridges before shipping, and place cartridges inside a sealed plastic bag to prevent ink or powder from leaking into the box.
    • Tape moving parts such as doors and print heads to secure them during the transit
    • Remove any paper trays and pack them separately
  • Packaging of LC or Monitors
    • Must be in its original packaging
    • Inspect the original packaging to ensure that the cushioning material and box are intact and unbroken
    • Wooden Crate should be provided by the shipper 
  • Packaging of Liquid Products
    • Inspect the shipment to ensure that there is no leak. Have the sealing portion taped for an additional seal 
    • Place the item in an outer packaging that should be able to contain leaks
    • If it is breakable multiple bottles/container, each should be individually sealed and wrapped with a bubble wrap to prevent contact between the items
  • Packaging of dried goods
    • Repacked goods such as powder drinks, junk foods, and chocolates are NOT allowed
    • Must be vacuum/heat sealed and placed in a box properly. Wrap the box with cling wrap to ensure it won’t smell 
    • All types of dry goods must be in their original packaging and must be properly packed in a box

For Boxes:

  • Must be used for dangerous goods and corrosive liquids.
  • Used for bulk items.
  • Must be used for fragile, sharp, odd-shaped, or high-value items.

For Pouches:

  • Used for small items not more than 
    • Envelope – 4.1×9.5 inches
    • A3 – 11.69×16.53 inches
    • A4 – 8.27×11.69 inches
  • Can be used for non-delicate items.
  • Only registered courier partners pouches must be used.

General Guidelines:

  1. Packaging box
    1. Boxes are preferably made of double-wall corrugated cardboard / paperboard.
    2. Practice enough spaces in every box to avoid shipping issues.
    3. You can use air cellophane bags, foam or shredded paper to fit the item inside the box. Bubble wrap also works.
  2. Packaging tapes
    1. Use packaging tape with the logo or branding of merchants.
  3. Fillers and wraps
    1. Protect the items from shock and damage. The item inside the box shouldn’t move.
    2. Highly recommended to use any fillers like bubble wrap, foam, and shredded papers.
    3. Use only the necessary amount of bubble wrap like a minimum of 2 layers.
